ABOUT ROBERTO DUTESCO

Roberto Dutesco is a New York based photographer working in art, fashion and film.

After moving to New York in the early 90's, he devoted much of his time to three projects: "The Wild Horses of Sable Island", "The American Sandscape" and "Rocks and Things". Roberto's travels have taken him through more than fifty countries and left him with a fascination for this "One World" in which we all live and share.

His short films "Times Square" and "Sable Horses" have been screened and favorably reviewed in several film festivals across the U.S. The Rainforest Foundation, The Sable Island Preservation Trust, The Green Horse Society, The American Liver Foundation, Black Tie and Tails, The World Rehabilitation Fund and The Humane Society are some of the organizations Roberto supports with his time and art donations.

In 2002 to commence the "Year of The Horse" Roberto was invited to display "The Horses of Sable Island" at the Sony Style windows in both New York and Chicago.

Also in 2002, Catherine Johnson, Chair of the Photography Committee of the National Arts Club in New York City curated his first show for the club.



In 2003, Dutesco exhibited the Sable Horses at the United Nations in a show entitled A World Without Borders".

In the summer of 2004 three city blocks in downtown Montreal showcased "Here Is Now", an outdoor show focusing around the subject of world peace.

In 2005, Roberto Dutesco was commissioned by Sony Style to create a series of larger than life flowers and at World Expo in Japan his work was exhibited in VIP suite "The Franklin Room" of the US Pavilion.

Currently, his main exhibit - The Wild Horses of Sable Island - that opened in 2006 is still on view at his Soho gallery located at 13 Crosby St., New York, NY, 10013. Click here for map
